What makes it special?
The Hurricane pasture rug is a unique water-repellent rug for use in the pasture or paddock. The rug guarantees dry horses even in heavy rain. The rug is therefore perfect for horses that are outside all day. The rug is highly resistant to tearing or scratching and remains 100% waterproof even without a new coating.
Fabrics & materials
For 100% wind and waterproofness, we use the same material as for the mackintosh for horses, a PU coating. This coating is the same as that used for the typical yellow fishing jackets. It is applied to the outside of the blanket and is therefore unique on the blanket market. Thanks to the artificial rabbit fur on the inside, the blanket is very soft on the skin and does not chafe. The lining also makes the horse's coat shiny and prevents the feeling of dampness under the rug. The Hurricane rug has two classic stainless steel fasteners with a brass look at the front, two cross surcingles and a detachable tail cord with a plastic cover. The classic artificial leather patches and golden details make your horse look elegant even on rainy days.
Shape & size
The artificial rabbit fur is designed so that it always moves back into place after rolling or lying down. The extra tail flap protects the horse's tail from the cold and wet. If you want even more protection, you can buy a separate neck piece to match the Hurricane rug. This is available in 0 g or 150 g and can be easily attached to the rug thanks to 2 Velcro fasteners. The neck piece is slightly longer at the withers, so you don't have to worry about rain getting in.
Care instructions
To clean the turnout rug, you can machine wash it at 30 degrees or simply hose it down / wipe it off. It is best to leave the rug to air dry afterwards. Unlike other waterproof rugs, it does not need to be treated with fluorocarbon as washing does not affect its waterproofness.
